Baykar is an essential member of the Turkey defence industry. Since 1984, it has been making investments for the technological independence of Turkey. Hence, it makes domestic and national production. It took its engineering initiative for the automotive industry to the sky. Thus, it has become one of the few unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturers in the world. It always relied on his brainpower while producing Turkey’s first domestic and national Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Baykar has a culture of continuous improvement in the success of the defence technologies used by the Turkish Armed Forces and exported abroad. It also aims to transform the aviation field in the Baykar R&D Center. For this reason, it focuses on designing advanced technologies nationally and uniquely. The R&D team dynamically applies new technologies in production processes. It also continues to work for the ownership of unmanned technologies by all layers of society. It continues to develop the most advanced technological systems worldwide in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Baykar’s activities cover all product life cycle stages of its systems. Besides, it has all technological competence from research, product development and post-production activities.
Its activities include the complete development of UAV systems, air platforms and ground components, including subsystems. Further, it makes its production according to the relevant military and civilian standards. Thus, it contributes to the development of the Turkey Defence Industry. Baykar initially develops the software used in the systems under the relevant platform and subsystem.
Within Baykar;
An unmanned aerial vehicle (combat drone) is a type of flying vehicle that physically does not contain people. UAVs’ most essential and indispensable component is a communication system between a ground-based controller and the aircraft.
There are two types of UAVs. The first are those controlled by remote control. The second is those flying on a specific route definition. Turkey Defence Industry is using UAVs produced for reconnaissance.
In general, UAVs are simply drones. However, independent control systems have been developed a lot. The purpose of this is to reveal the differences between UAVs and guided missiles. It can also be controlled without a crew. Moreover, it can fly at a certain altitude without stopping.
Armed UAV, whose technical features are the same as UAVs, is the armed version of the combat drone. They can be used by remote control as well as hit the targets defined to them. So, it is one of the tools that play a significant role in the Turkey defence industry today.
Bayraktar TB 2 Tactical A/UAV System, developed and put into use by Baykar, is integrated network-based system architecture. Thanks to Baykar’s technological capabilities, the entire system is produced locally. This also contributes to national production.
Bayraktar TB2 is an unmanned aerial vehicle classified as medium altitude-long air stay for surveillance and intelligence missions. With its sensor fusion architecture, it has fully autonomous take-off, landing and standard navigation capability. It can fly for more than 300,000 hours. TB2 actively serves the Turkey defence industry. Baykar also exported Bayraktar A / UAV Platforms to Qatar, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Bayraktar TB2 broke the broadcast time and altitude record in Turkish aviation history.
Akıncı UAV has a 20-meter wingspan with its unique twisted wing structure. It can carry a large number of ammunition. Akıncı is also more innovative and more aware of environmental conditions thanks to its unique artificial intelligence system. It offers advanced flight and diagnostic functions to its users. It will also perform some of the tasks performed by the raider warplanes.
Bayraktar Vertical Landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is a Tactical UAV class aircraft capable of conducting reconnaissance and intelligence missions. The vehicle also can perform automatic cruise flight, autonomous take-off, autonomous landing and semi-autonomous cruise flight.
Bayraktar Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System has been developed entirely nationally. It is the first robotic aircraft of the Turkish defense industry. Moreover, its electronics, software and structural components are completely domestic production. The Mini UAV System also works under difficult geographical and meteorological conditions. It has been used in the Turkey defence industry for many years.
